How to help rats long nails?

My pet rat has rather long nails, uncomfortably long. I'm not sure what to do. I've never really had a rats nails grow too long, but her nails just seem too long, and they don't look like they feel good. I thought about just clipping them very carefully, but the darn rat is way to squirmy. I don't want my babies nails to be hurting her. She doesn't act like they do but I don't like how they look. Is there any way to naturally file her nails, anything that the rat can do or that I can give the rat that would help file down her nails without hurting her?How to help rats long nails?
don't put sand paper in your rats cage because it can mess up thier soft feet pads, ouch!! I have heard of people putting bricks or bessa blocks near the drinking water so when the ratty wants a drink it will run over the brick and the nails get filed down.

to cut a rats nails yourself let them run around and tire themselves out get somebody to help you restrain them (a towel over the heard will help, just be careful not to smother them!!) and snip each nail with alot of treats and cuddles in between! you can also file you ratties nails this way as well.

good luck!!How to help rats long nails?
Well actually yesturday i went to a Groomer place and they pay 5 BUCKS just to cut my little rat dextys nails and they look fabulous!

but most of the time i cut his with nail clippers

but if it runs on a wheel glue sand paper on the wheeel and when it runs it automaticly files it but be careful everyay check if there nails are not to low to the vain and if it is then take off the sand paper just do that kind of routine.

best thing is to cut them with nail trimmers like for people..

also more time out of the cage will help and more branches to climb on in the cage..

the nails will curl under and hurt her...
There is no natural formula; the only way is to do it is by clipping them.
