My dog has really long nails, she wont let us cut them.?

Whe we do try she tries to bite us and she pulls her paw away really fast. Last night she was walking and one of her nails broke and she started to bleed. We got the bleeding to stop. If I take her to the Vet is there a way they can calm her down so they can cut her nails. I dont think putting a muzzle on her will help. It usually takes 4 people to hold her down and she only weighs about 25 pounds. My dog has really long nails, she wont let us cut them.?
girl, I had the SAME problem.. I have an english bulldog who goes crazy if we try to file her nails. We started walking her more often on the street, gravel.... and they filed themselves down :) If that doesn't work for you, definately a groomer is experienced with this....My dog has really long nails, she wont let us cut them.?
You should try to find a wire cage muzzle. Some hound hunting outfitters still carry them (gundogsupply?). Those nylon muzzles won't stop a small dog from nipping you.

Other than the muzzle to keep you safe, you're still going to have to have help holding her still. Start small and take a little away each time.

A vet may be able to sedate her - cut the nails down very low (it will bleed) and then you can start from scratch. But you'll still need to clip the nails often to keep them from getting long again.
if you bring her to a vet they will sedate her ( put her to sleep) for a little while so they can cut her nails. this won't hurt her and it is safer for her and you!
Have your vet sedate her to do her nails. After that, try this method to keep them short:

yes, you should go to the vet, vets can help. But maybe she is a little bit scared and frustrated.
i would try taking her to the vet, or a pet groomer
