My girlfriend has long nails, but she wonders why they distort/bend, as opposed to growing straight. Answers?

My girlfriend was on the computer a lot on her job, so she couldn't let her nails grow out. But, she just got a promotion and so now she will be in more meetings than at her terminal, and, she wants them to be a little longer. She's finding that as they are growing out, they are contorting. So, she wants to know what can she do to prevent/control this as much as she can. She don't want to resort to the store-bought

Does she smoke? Smoking can mess your nails up.


It could also be a nutritional problem.

Probably because they aren't strong or healthy, if they're weak then they're going to bend as they grow cause they don't have enough strength. You could try some Sally Hansen products to make the nails stronger and healthier
The best thing is she keeps short, clean and perfect nails. Long ones are so gross.
